Local Rules

1. Out of Bounds (Rule 18 applies)

a) Beyond any course boundary wall, hedge or fence
b) Within the Clubhouse enclosures.

2. Penalty Areas (Rule 17 applies)

a) Yellow Penalty Areas: The ponds on the 9th and 10th holes are Yellow Penalty areas as defined by yellow stakes and/or lines.
b) Red Penalty Areas: The following open ditches are Red Penalty areas
across the 1st hole, to the right of the 6th hole, to the rear of the 8th green, to the right of the 14th tee, to the right of the 16th green and to the rear of the 18th green

3. Dropping Zones

As an additional option to the relief available outlined in Rule 17 if it known or virtually certain that the player's ball came to rest in red penalty area to the rear of the 8th green the player has two relief options each for one penalty stroke.


a) Take relief under Rule 17.1 or
b) as an extra option drop a ball in the dropping zone to the left of the 8th green. The dropping zone is a relief area under Rule 14.3 and extends a radius of one club length from the designated post marking the centre of the Dropping Zone.

4. Movable obstructions (Rule 15 applies)

a) White marker posts in the fairway
b) All 100 yards and 150 yards distance marker posts
c) Any temporary course management ropes and signage.

5. Abnormal Ground Conditions (Rule 16 applies)

a) All artificially surfaced roads, paths and steps.
b) Distance marker plates in the fairway, course furniture, direction posts and fixed signage.
c) All course irrigation or drainage manholes and fixed sprinkler heads.

The player also has the following extra option to take relief when the immovable obstruction is close to the putting green and on the line of play:
If the ball lies in the general area the player may take relief under Rule 16.1b if any immovable obstruction is on the line of play and is within two club lengths of the putting green and within two club lengths of the ball. (Exception - there is no relief under this rule if the player chooses a line of play that is clearly unreasonable)

d) Outcrops of rock in closely mown areas. A player may have relief from interference with the lie of the ball or line of intended swing but not for interference with stance.
e) Any Ground Under Repair marked with white lines

6. Protection of Young Trees (Rule 16 1f applies)
Any Young Trees supported by stakes are no play zones:
If a ball lies anywhere on the course other than in a penalty area and it lies on or touches such a tree or such a tree interferes with the player's stance or intended area of swing, the player must take relief under Rule 16.1f.

Penalty for Breach of Local Rule - Loss of hole in Match Play or two strokes in Stroke Play.
